O sistema de Gemas veio para substituir o sistema de subatributos que os equipamentos tinham a chance de obter após serem abertos através de um saco de equipamento podendo vir com status adicionais ao padrão do equipamento padronizando e melhorando todo o sistema em si. Este sistema de subatributos perdurou desde as Versões Beta do jogo até o a versão atual. Uma das principais melhorias que o sistema de gemas trouxe é dar a possibilidade do jogador escolher quais atributos ele quer para cada equipamento em seu set, podendo fazer das mais diversas combinações de defesa, utilidade, resistência ou dano puro.

Se você possuir algum equipamento mais antigo com subatributos e tentar adicionar uma gema os subatributos já contidos no equipamento serão removidos e adicionados os atributos da gema, não permitindo assim que sejam combinados atributos de equipamentos antigos com as gemas.

As Gemas são pedras preciosas, cujo em seu interior possuem energias místicas que quando fundidas à equipamentos, podem fornecer a quem as porta, poderes e habilidades especiais acima de suas capacidades naturais sendo muito úteis a guerreiros que desejam mais poder. Não se sabe até o momento de onde vem ou quem as forjou em nosso mundo, mas elas podem ser encontradas Masmorras e Eventos Especiais dentro de Bolsas de Fragmentos de Gemas em forma de Fragmentos de Gemas. Ao fundir 5 fragmentos iguais, formará uma Gema Neutra que ter seus poderes revelados quando clicada. Uma vez revelada, a gema apresentará ranhuras, formando símbolos e formatos diferentes, com significados e bônus diferentes, como nos exemplos abaixo:

Smelting

In order to smelt ores into bars you must go to Grazlin's forge in Mittenhoff or the forge in Cirone. There is also a Home Forge which can be placed in your house, obtainable at random only from the Mystery Box, purchasable from the Medivia Store.
No mining skill is required to smelt ore, anyone can smelt any bar, making smelting a good way to boost mining at low skills, even if it does give less skill progress than actual mining.
Use the ores you have collected on the smelter to create bars (5 ore = 1 bar). Depending on how high your mining skill is (seems it needs to be AT LEAST as high as the skill to mine it), you will have a chance to smelt 2 bars out of 5 ores instead of just 1, the higher your skill is, the higher chance to get double bars from a certain type of ore.

Crafting

If you have completed the first mission of The Dwarf Faction, you will be able to have Grazlin craft certain items out of the bars you give him.

The Great and Meteorite items, Golden Boots and Golden Mace can only be crafted once you complete The Dwarf Faction.

Note: The following table lists the items by using the highest-rated ore in its requirement, starting with Copper as the lowest rated and ending with Heliodor as the highest. This list will not be in an economical order, but depending on what types of bars it requires.
